The on-disk format of LC_CTYPE files was changed to be machine independent. Please make sure NOT to use NO_CLEAN buildworld when crossing this point. Crossing this point also requires recompile or reinstall of all locale depended packages.
機種依存性がなくなるようにLC_CTYPEファイルのオンディスクフォーマットを変えました。 この点を跨いで、絶対にNO_CLEAN buildworldを使用しないでください。また、この変更点を跨ぐ、すべてのlocale依存パッケージの再構築と再インストールも必要です。

[8] In order to have a kernel that can run the 4.x binaries needed to do an installworld, you must include the COMPAT_FREEBSD4 option in your kernel. Failure to do so may leave you with a system that is hard to boot to recover. A similar kernel option COMPAT_FREEBSD5 is required to run the 5.x binaries on more recent kernels.
4.xのバイナリを実行できるカーネルのために再構築で必要な事は、カーネルにCOMPAT_FREEBSD4オプションを*1含まなければなりません。これを行なわなければ、復旧してブートするのが難しいシステムが残されるでしょう。カーネルオプションCOMPAT_FREEBSD5も同様に、より新しいカーネルで5.xのバイナリを実行するために必要です。
